Trastevere Morning
Acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, signed in the lower right corner. Hanging hardware is included.
This painting was born from a personal memory of a vacation to Italy with my wife. While exploring Rome, we wandered into the Trastevere neighborhood—a beautiful, bohemian area known for its narrow, winding streets and historic charm. I was immediately inspired by this particular street scene, where the buildings seem to lean in toward one another, framing a small, quiet piazza.
In this work, I focused on the perspective of the cobbled street, using my geometric and cubist style to capture the "packed" feeling of the architecture. I wanted to draw the viewer’s eye deep into the cluster of buildings, reflecting that sense of discovery you feel when you turn a corner in an ancient city. Although the original painting has been sold, I am happy to offer it here as a high-quality print so others can share in this Roman memory.
