Geometric Garden
Acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, signed in the lower right corner. Hanging hardware is included.
My overall composition is dominated by a surrounding geometric framework of intersecting lines and colored blocks, which reminds me of styles like De Stijl or Cubism. The finished piece is a rectilinear and angular arrangement of shapes and planes.
I used a rich and varied color palette, featuring blocks of teal/dark green, orange/terracotta, royal blue, yellow, and pale lavender/pink, often outlining them with thin black lines. I added a solid flat black border around the outside, which emphasizes the framed rectangular image within.
The tension between a flat, abstract, and heavily structured border and the more textured, three-dimensional, and organic subject I placed in the center are quite unique
Note: The flat black is not a frame it is part of the painting
