Cape Elizabeth, Maine Lighthouse is an original landscape painting of one of the most iconic and frequently photographed beacons on the Atlantic coast. While I have seen many photos of this historic landmark, I wanted to create a version that captured its stark, architectural beauty against the vast Maine sky.
The painting features a clean, focused composition that highlights the towering white lighthouse and the cluster of coastal buildings at its base. Using a Post-Impressionist style, I applied visible brushwork to the rugged, tan-colored cliffs in the foreground to create a sense of height and perspective. The deep blue of the sky provides a sharp contrast to the warm tones of the earth and the brilliant white of the structure. Please note: The original painting of this piece has sold, but it remains a significant part of my coastal portfolio and a tribute to the rugged beauty of the New England shoreline.
