Lake Minnewaska State Park NY
Acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, signed in the lower right corner. Hanging hardware is included.
This landscape painting is a celebration of a beautiful day spent hiking in the Hudson Valley with my wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. Lake Minnewaska State Park is one of our favorite local spots, and I wanted to capture the vibrant, refreshing energy of the water and the surrounding forest that we enjoyed together as a family.
In this work, I leaned into a more impressionistic and post-impressionistic style, using visible brushstrokes to emphasize the shifting light on the lake's surface. While I maintained my signature focus on geometric forms—seen in the structural framing of the trees and the rocky shoreline—the overall goal was to convey the brilliant colors of a New York summer. By blending bold, architectural shapes with a focus on natural light, I’ve tried to recreate the peaceful yet invigorating spirit of the Hudson Valley landscape.
